by Nick Breckon, May 06, 2009 6:22pm PDTUpdate: Blizzard tells IncGamers that the test will be multiplayer-only, and may only include only a portion of maps from the title.

Additionally, WWI 2008 beta keys and BlizzCon 2008 beta keys will indeed grant entry to the beta test.
Original story: Blizzard has officially opened up the StarCraft II beta opt-in, according to a new post on the World of Warcraft site.
"The StarCraft II beta-test period is coming in the months ahead! If you'd like a chance to participate, now's the time to let us know," reads the post.
Interested parties must simply visit their Battle.net profile page, choose to opt-in for the beta, and re-submit their current system specs by way of a small downloadable piece of software.
Blizzard's SC2 beta FAQ explains that the North American beta test will begin first.
Thanks to Zerbyte for the heads-up.

"You need to have at least one Blizzard Entertainment game attached to this Battle.net account in order to set up your beta profile."
So you have to register your CD keys - obviously all my keys are on my primary account.

And they're supposedly getting this game out this fall? Not bloody likely, folks. Lame. :(
Unless it's Diablo 3 that's coming out this fall...that could be both shocking and awesome, all at once. :D

Copy the link into your address bar and replace the www. with us. and it should work. I was having a helluva time and getting rightly pissed that I couldn't access the site at all.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!
Man surprised no one has complained yet. So not only does blizzard have your email, they make you enter valid keys on their web site they also make you download an app that scan your hardware foot print that you then submit.
This screams potential DRM to those wolf packs of hungry Blizzard fans. I am sure Blizzard will have zero piracy if this info structure becomes a mandatory step for playing any of their future games.
Personally I don’t really care too much but it may be a tad much, or maybe I am reading way too much into it.
