Batman: Arkham Asylum Officially Delayed

Following rumors that Batman: Arkham Asylum had been delayed until Q4 2009, co-publishers Eidos and Warner Bros. today confirmed that the game has indeed been postponed, though the revised release window falls just short of the rumored delay.

Once expected in June, Rocksteady's stealth-action PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 game will now hit "at the end of summer," implying a release no later than September 22.

"This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers," Warner and Eidos explained in their statement.

I, probably being alone in this opinion, am very happy it was postponed. Games that get rushed out for one reason or another SUCK. This shows the developer and its support think giving the game enough time is important.

Obviously delayed because of problems with the PS3 version of the game.
I'm surprised MS didn't pony up the dough for an early 360 release.

I guess, though, that they might have gotten to the point where they realize they don't need one anymore, though.

If they make it awesome then I don't care. I haven't played a Batman game I loved since Batman Returns for the SNES back in the early 90s. I think that was one of the best beat em up games of all time. Batman Begins for Gamecube was alright. This game is looking great so far.
