Resident Evil 5 PC Official, Hitting Later This Year; Street Fighter 4, Bionic Commando PC in July
by Chris Faylor, May 01, 2009 3:11pm PDTSurprising no one, developer Capcom today confirmed that the oft-rumored PC version of Resident Evil 5 will arrive "later in the year," with the PC editions of Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando due in July. All three will be sold via retail and digital distribution.
"All three games will be optimized for the PC platform and will have new PC-specific features added to the already great games," wrote Capcom. Both Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 earlier this year, with the console edition of GRIN's swinging action game Bionic Commando slated to hit on May 19.
Details on the "new PC-specific features" for each game follow below. Be aware that Resident Evil 5 sported online co-op on consoles--the new feature for that title is the compatibility with NVIDIA's GeForce 3D Vision technology.
Street Fighter IV
The PC version of Street Fighter IV will feature online play, higher screen resolutions and three new shaders based on three of the "artistic" trailers released in 2008 that will change the visual appearance of the game: "watercolor," "posterization" and "sumi-e ink" styles.
Bionic Commando
The PC version of Bionic Commando will support higher resolutions than the console version, remappable controls including mouse and keyboard support, support for both DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 and online connectivity for multiplayer sessions.
Resident Evil 5
The PC version of Resident Evil 5 will feature online play for co-operative play sessions over the internet and will also take advantage of NVIDIA's new GeForce 3D Vision technology (wireless 3D Vision glasses sold separately).

I'm also wondering how they will distribute these games digitally. Sven at Capcom said they have no plans to release SF4 on Steam. I'm assuming the same goes for Resident Evil 5 and that they might only release Bionic Commando on there. It looks like they're making the same mistakes EA made before finally swallowing their pride in regards to Steam.
I'm pretty much at the point with PC gaming that if a game doesn't release on Steam I just ignore it.

How is this PC-specific? Don't the console versions have online co-op, too?
