Konami Code Spawns Unicorns on ESPN Website
by Nick Breckon, Apr 27, 2009 4:18pm PDTUpdate: It appears that ESPN has removed the "cheat" from the site. However, Shacker MH Knight points out this handy Google cache, which recreates the effect.
A gaming-related easter egg hidden on the website of sports media giant ESPN was revealed today, spawning thousands of unicorns for game-savvy users--and probably a few for some very confused visitors.
As discovered by Kotaku readers, entering the Konami code while viewing ESPN.com will populate the page with an increasing number of pink horses and rainbows.
For rusty Contra players, the Konami code--in computer form--is: Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, enter.
Warning: Comic sans detractors may wish to steer clear of this one.
