Weekly PC Sales: Demigod Debuts Strong

The software sales charts are in for the second full week of April, showing a strong debut for the piracy-ridden Demigod at US retailers, with Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor continuing to do well at both retail outlets and digital distributor Direct2Drive.

While NPD's list mostly reorganized that of last week, Direct2Drive saw some more significant changes, with MLB 2K9 and Civ IV charting due to newly lower prices.

I've been playing DotA recently so I wouldn't mind giving Demigod a try regardless if it does or doesn't compare to DotA. I just need a demo first. =|

I'm in the same boat. I think I would like this but without a demo I'm not touching it.

I went ahead and bought it. It's pretty slick. I haven't even touched multiplayer yet, I'm going through and learning all the heroes first. There's basically 2-3 things you can focus on for each hero, an area of expertise I guess you could call it. So for example, the Queen of Thorns can either focus on AOE attacks and siege damage, or be more of a minion master with a huge group following her around.

There's typically 4-5 skills that can be upgraded, and sometimes you'll have one independant high level skill that depends on two other skills being maxed out before it unlocks. It gives a fair amount of freedom when you're mixing and matching you skills, and throw in 7 equipment/consumable slots and one slot for match items.. lots of freedom for building your hero how you want.

      Plus it look awesome.
