A Double Dose of Max Payne Hits the Xbox 360

The original Xbox versions of Max Payne and Max Payne 2 are available now for Xbox 360 as Xbox Live Marketplace downloads, publisher Rockstar has announced.

Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne cost 1200 MS Points ($15) each.

The Max Payne series, created and originally developed by Remedy Entertainment, is set to continue this winter with Max Payne 3, under development at Rockstar Vancouver.

I still can't get over the fact that Max Payne 2 was released quite a bit before Half-Life 2, and it still looks just as good. Not to mention the fact that it has aged so well. What a fantastic marriage of gameplay and technology.

I still remember picking up a brand new copy of MP2 at an EBgames and asking the clerk if it really was only $1.99. I think it was at that price point for awhile too whenever they were clearing it out or whatever.

I can't believe they are selling it for $15 EACH even.

Not sure which Max Payne i like the most.

The second one had supreme gunplay, but lacked a lot of the awesome film noir comments/"cutscenses" of the first game.

Too bad they weren't remakes or something for Live Arcade. Once again, costs way too much for each game. I purchased physical copies for Xbox for $5 each, and they weren't even used. I doubt I will ever play them on a console, but it was nice to have them regardless. PC versions all the way, however it is nice that Max Payne may hit a bigger audience being on the Live Marketplace.
