Unlike Guitar Hero II, the tunes selected for Smash Hits will be entirely composed of master tracks, 48 of which have been derived from former Guitar Hero setlists. The game hits PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii on June 16.

Free Bird: buy. I'm hoping the note charts kick as much ass as GH2.

I would say the lead will be identical, there will just be lyrics and drums/bass added. What I would really like to see brought back is rhythm for some songs, because a song like free bird has an awesome rhythm line and a fairly standard bass.
This is i think one of the major differences between GHWT and the others, all the songs in GHWT have fairly decent basslines, and sets like the tool set are all about the drums and bass.
