Brutal Legend Gets 'Rocktober' Release Date

10
Promising that Brutal Legend will "melt your face off," developer Double Fine and publisher EA today announced a firm release date for the metal-action game.

The tale of roadie Eddie Riggs' descent into a world "where every Heavy Metal album cover and lyric Eddie knows has come to life" hits North America in PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 form on October 13, followed by a European release October 16.

"Wooo! Having an official release date is awesome!" said Double Fine president and Grim Fandango creator Tim Schafer. "And how cool is it that EA threw down the dough to have the name of an entire month changed to Rocktober?"

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

I really hope this project is like the rest of the schafer projects and I really hope it sells well.

No, I hope that it has the quality of the rest of schaefers titles. This one in my opinion is a pretty big title for him and its going to be marketed a lot I believe. I hope they were able to retain the creativity that they have had like their last titles with out outside interference.

Unfortunately schaferer's titles haven't sold well, maybe this will be there Bioshock :)

I'm sure the game will be awesome, and I want it to sell well, but I have a feeling it's going to end up selling like Psychonauts :(

It'll do better than that purely because EA are publishing rather than Majesco.

      EITHER
It will be as good as the rest of Schafer's project
      OR
      It will sell well

Most consumers don't like really good games.
