Has anybody ever heard of one half of a RAID-1 mirror setup going bad (e.g. writing bad sectors) and then the RAID controller actually replicating the corruption to the other (supposedly healthy) drive?

This apparently happened to my drives, but I never got any warnings or anything... everything was cool and then one morning the RAID just shit the bed. I'm using the onboard RAID controller from a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 mobo.

  I would never use onboard RAID. Ever. RAID cards are easily replaceable. : electroly
