Age of Conan Getting Face Import Tech 'Soon'

Players of Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures will soon be able to bring their own faces and voices into the mature PC MMO thanks to a three-way collaboration between Big Stage Entertainment, GGL Global Gaming, and developer Funcom.
Using three user-provided digital images, Big Stage's web-based technology creates a 3D "@ctor," which can then be customized with accessories, such as an eye patch. GGL is handling promotion, with prizes for those that "share" their "@ctor" most.
Currently, the implementation is limited to videos and images on the web, but Big Stage vows that the "@ctors" users create today will be supported "in-game soon."

More likely is that they're getting paid a lot of money by Big Stage, the company that makes the face mapping product, to put this in the game so that Big Stage can go to other game companies and say "Look! This mass-market MMO uses our technology! Please license us!"

i played aoc for some time - but i never really had some outstanding in-game experiences like i had back in ultima online and anarchy online.
uo and anarchy online were games where i interacted with players most of the time and that was great fun - those games have their own "drive". aoc doesn't have that - and facefeature x and directx10 will never change that.
That's why i don't play it anymore.

i remember NHL 2000 had this feature. it was lol. it sort of looke dlike me, but not really. although it got my friend's face dead on.
