Stargate Worlds Still Coming, Developer Vows
by Chris Faylor, Apr 08, 2009 8:37am PDTWhile current economic conditions haven't been kind to Stargate Worlds developer Cheyenne Mountain, the company today issued a statement to affirm that the sci-fi PC MMO is still under development and that "the lights here are still on."
The studio has seen a rash of problems in recent months, including issues paying its employees and bills. Combined with a GatesWorld interview in which consultant Brad Wright was pessimistic about the game's future, things looked grim.
However, the studio says that it simply failed to keep Wright in the loop in regards to "the continuing progress on our game," stressing that "team members are in the office seven days a week to deliver Stargate Worlds."
Explained Cheyenne Mountain:
It's true that the production of Stargate Worlds has been significantly impacted by the greatest worldwide economic downturn in decades, but we are still raising enough money from angel investors to keep the dev team working. We are currently negotiating several deals that will cover our financial responsibilities and fund the remainder of development. When we sign those deals, you'll hear about it. Until then, we'll keep building Stargate Worlds, because right now, that's the only thing that matters to us.

A) Time and as goblins in wow say...
B) Money
You need a crap ton of both...
Seeing how this company has nether... I have lots and lots of doubts this will ever exit vapor ware.
Start up companies should NOT be attempting to make a MMO.
They should release it now and make it F2P (free to play).

Ok, we have Health Bar!, Mana Bar!, bunch of 'slots' for abilities, mini-map in the top right corner, and a chat window...
Must have for all MMO's am i rite?
This is a clear indication, that they have NO idea how they are going to make this IP into a MMO.
Oh well, good luck to them, I'll probably try it, but only because of the setting.
