Konami Signs Saw Game, Releases Screenshots

Zombie Studios' licensed Saw video game lives on--even if its characters may not--as Konami has confirmed that it's signed the project and plans to release it this fall.

It's now slated to launch alongside the theatrical release of Saw VI, the publisher told Variety's The Cut Scene blog. In addition, the site was provided with the first screenshots of the upcoming PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 game, rehosted above. The fate of the torturous game became murky last year after former publisher Brash imploded.

As for the actual gameplay, players find themselves in an asylum filled with devious traps by series antagonist and/or life coach Jigsaw. They and can either solve the puzzles of the traps, and thus save folks, or leave the victims to Jigsaw's grim devices.

For the love of Ra, please stop making Saw movies. I'm guessing they'll only stop when they cease to be profitable.

I keep being mildly entertained by them and keep on watching. I guess I'm part of the problem. As for playing a SAW game. That would be a big nope. I prefer to enjoy this stuff vicariously.

I will go to movies and see every darn Saw movie that comes out, just because I've been doing it for the last 4 years (well 2nd part was the last one I really enjoyed). 8)

I just watched all of them recently. The first two are fucking awesome. They are also not as violent as people make them out to be. However after the first two it goes downhill.

And in the screenshots, the doll that appears on the TV in the movies looks totally different in the game. It's shape is all weird and wrong.
