"He's the ultimate bad-ass in the world of comics," Raven senior artist Cory Carani says of Wolverine in the below video. "He can do things that other super heroes can't."

Later on, the developer says his title is "the movie game that finally does not suck."

Inspired by the impending action movie of the same name, X-Men Origins: Wolverine launches alongside the flick--which you may have already seen--on May 1. The game's due to hit just about everything: PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS and PSP

As good as this look, I don't think that they've actually created the "definitive wolverine game." Last I checked, wolverine wasn't someone from the streetrighter series who could spin in circles, with spinning lighting effects to go along. For the most part, he was just an ordinary person with some extraordinary abilities. The lunging move, while a nice fresh idea, is ridiculously exaggerateded. For someone who has huge claws, you'de expect a little.. well.. blood. But the game looks very sterile. Looks like publishers really are trying to push T ratings on games these days.

And the rage aspect..? So... the game encourages you to suck?

There are other interviews where they are saying this is going to be very bloody and gory game, so I doubt it's going to be rated T.

Last I checked, the game was M-rated and had lots of blood and dismemberment. Maybe they're just not showing that yet?

i think its likely theyre just leaving it out of the trailers... wasnt the ESRB all up in arms over fallout 3 showing gory trailers or something?

I believe the game is M while the movie is PG-13 which could explain the discrepancy. I think the deal is that they can't show anything more gruesome than the movie in the previews, but the actual game can and will probably have much more blood and gore.

I take it you don't read the comics much? I kind of get the impression that they are going for the "comic book" feel for his attacks, hence the flashiness. Eh, either way this game looks very good to me. And although as others have mentioned before about developers making claims about their movie based games not sucking, to the best of my knowledge most of those developers were not in the same league as Raven. I guess we'll find out soon.

They said that it was the "movie game that finally doesn't suck", so I assumed that they were going to base it off the movie. The visuals look really street fighter ish what with all that gravity defying movement. The spinning move just looks so goddamn out of place.

I whole heartedly agree. I would also prefer he NOT jump 100 feet and generally behave like Spiderman. I have several other games for that...
