Weekend Discussion

Man, how about last night's Battlestar Galatic--oh, wait :(

With the action-packed week of Game Developers Conference now behind us, I was shocked to discover that I had overlooked the part where tonight brings a Roller Derby match to those of us in Fort Wayne, Indiana. What a wonderful surprise!

Also, if you happen to be a fan of Mega Man X (or Zero) and Puzzle League (aka Tetris Attack aka Panel de Pon), I suggest you check out Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure on Nintendo DS. The joy this game brings me, I cannot put into words.

There's also a wonderful sense of charm--it's all about being the best-dressed gentleman in the world, and Hatsworth's voice sample is all "hrumph hrumph hrumph."

Neverwinter Nights is a pretty good game. I bought it originally just for the online aspect to help me my diablo 2 battlenet addiction but low and behold a fun single player!

I made a really stupid mistake by tossing a bunch of old games I had one time. It was mainly due to one or more CDs being kinda messed up. This was one of the games and I really regret it.

The expansion's surprisingly good! But the original campaign was, uh...

I loved and played the living fuck out of NWN and the expansions.

I didn't really get into the main NWN campaign, but holy FUCK were the expansions good - Hordes of the Underdark was fucking epic and my Arcane Archer fucked shit up.

HotU was awesome. Didn't like the other 2 at all. Some of the player made content for that game is amazing. Almost neverending.

I did the same thing - I wound up reloading the save I had where I was in hell by the celestial that knew everyone's True Name just so I could pick different people at the end.

Also, regarding Aribeth - were you ever able to persuade her to stay on your side if you didn't use her true name?

The two nwn2 expansions were good.

There are several now. Mask of the Betrayer was good. I tried one of the recent ones, it was horrible. Threw it away without completing.

The only expansions are Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir. Storm of Zehir is the most recent one. I don't think it's that bad though.

It's not bad, and it does a lot of things very well (most notably the changes in the conversation system), but it also does a lot of weird stuff (like the dumb and far too easily broken trading system, the entirely throwaway story, and the lack of interesting dialogue with Mask of the Betrayer had quite a bit of).

I like the idea of the world map, but every new NWN expansion just makes me thirst more for a *proper* D&D title set somewhere other than the goddamn realms.

Check out Drakensang. I was surprised with the depth for 30 USD.
