Shack PSA: Far Cry 2 $15 on Steam Today
by Chris Faylor, Mar 26, 2009 4:28pm PDTAs Ubisoft and Valve's week of one-day Steam discounts continues, the duo are now offering up a download of Far Cry 2 PC for $14.99--50% off the usual asking price.
Released this past October, Ubisoft Montreal's open-world first-person shooter has players taking missions in Africa whilst trying to fight off a nasty bout of malaria.
Far Cry 2 also marked the first retail game to debut DLC via Steam. At $5, the Fortune's Pack add-on brings more weapons, vehicles, and multiplayer maps to the game.

I'm down with decrypting a game after I've bought it, as well as the new Impulse Goo thing, and whatnot, but having to continually rely on a remote service that itself assumes I'm trying to be a thief is... Assinine.
Really, why bother having the install counter other than to frustrate legitimate users? It's not stopping piracy, just resale. Well, Steam already stops that too. So again, why have this crap thrown on the game?
Feel free to pay and play it, it's wholly the buyer's perogative. But be aware that the game is crippled for /no reason/.
