First Footage of Stardock's Elemental Arrives

Stardock has released a footage from "a very, very early alpha version" of its upcoming strategy game Elemental: War of Magic (PC). It's due out in February 2010, with a beta slated to kick off later this year. For more information, check out our past coverage.

Wow, that was early footage, looks mostly to be placeholder, but still could be promising.

You could tell the GalCiv engine was sitting under there, but instead of space, it was a landscape. Would be very interesting if you had a fantasy RPG, but based on the Civ style of random maps and repeatable play, interesting stuff indeed!

Ooooh....the engine looks much better in motion that the initial screenshots indicated. Hopefully we get to see some more stuff from GDC.

I like the little animation flourishes when Sovereign Mans changes gear. "Oh snap this sword is heavy" "hey check out this breastplate" "curse these tight boots!"

Also digging the supcom-esque zoom from troop view to world view, every strategy game needs that.
