Contest: Win a $3000+ Total War-capable Alienware Gaming Laptop
by Nick Breckon, Mar 20, 2009 5:43pm PDTSo you wanted to win Empire: Total War in our last contest, but didn't have a computer powerful enough to play it anyway. Most PC gamers have been in that situation at least once. But Shacknews is here to bail you out.
Thanks to Sega and Alienware, we're giving away a crazy Alienware m17x gaming laptop to one random winner. How crazy is this thing? It has two Nvidia 9800M GT 512MB graphics cards running in SLI mode--and a built-in subwoofer. Yeah, it's one of those laptops. And the beastly machine is valued at a staggering $3400.

Other notable features include the 17" WUXGA widescreen monitor, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6GHz processor, HDMI/TOSlink out, integrated HDTV tuner, and full-scale, glow-in-the-dark keyboard for those late-night Empire: Total War sessions. Oh, plus an Alienware hat. $3401.
So how do you enter? Leave a comment on this story--nice and simple. Don't bother leaving more than one comment, as that won't increase your odds. Do get your friends to enter, though. Entries will be accepted through the weekend.
Good luck! And don't forget to follow Shacknews on Twitter for the chance to win more fun stuff. Specs of the laptop follow:

Best regards,
Eric Shugars
I'm a 16 year old girl in a house full of brothers, it's constantly stressing me. I live in a city where you have to have money and expensive things to accepted. As you have already guessed, I don't have expensive things. :( So, I turn to gaming. I love gaming, especially online. But I never get a chance to since we have one desktop computer! (That I c an never get on). And I've never owned a laptop in my life, so it would be so amazing if I could get this! :D <3
TY.
Every particle of my being is enlivened by the thought of owning such a powerhouse of a product. The alienware m17x is so far beyond any gaming system I've owned in terms of sheer quality and power that I'm a little intimidated by it. Please let us become friends.

It would be lovely to win that computer, because my current computer aint that good, and it's very hard to get enough money for a new one when you are only 15 years and gotta use money for other things :D I love to play games, but my computer sucks so i can only play at the lowest quality. And when black ops come out i dont think that my computer can run it..... If i win it I promise that i will try to get a lot of gaming vids up on youtube from the computer, because you dont see a lot of pc gamers on youtube, because buying a decent computer is so much more expensive than buying a xbox or a ps3. But I'm a computer player, and i dont think fps games and so are designed to be played on consoles :)
Thats why I'm hoping to win :) I also think it's cool that you make these contests, to allow people who aint got that much money to get a good computer :) Thank you for reading this ;D See ya all.
