BioShock 2 Loses 'Sea of Dreams' Subtitle
by Chris Faylor, Mar 19, 2009 12:32pm PDTFirst, it was known as BioShock 2. Then, it was BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. Now, the sequel to the acclaimed first-person shooter is back to plain old BioShock 2.
"You won't be seeing 'Sea of Dreams' moving forward, just 'BioShock 2,'" 2K community manager Elizabeth Tobey informed Primotech.
In development at 2K Marin and due out sometime between August and October 31, BioShock 2 expands upon the original by putting players in the role of "the first ever" Big Daddy, or Mr. B, as the numerous Little Sisters refer to the hulking guardians.
The game is eventually "destined" for release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but publisher 2K has not specified which versions are due by the end of the year.

It was successful enough to become a big brand name and I'm sure they could sell well at this point if they cranked out yearly sequels, but I'm not really craving another Bioshock game just yet.
This isn't intended as a slight, but I felt full of Bioshock when I finished the first one and I'm haven't started feeling hungry for more of it yet.

So, if Bioshock 2 ever has an expansion pack maybe it will be called Sea of Dreams.
Think they just want to make sure people know its the full fledged sequel and not just an expansion.
