Analyst: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Could Sell 2 Million This Year
"If the title's subsequent reviews are consistent with the initial critical response, 'Chinatown Wars' would be the highest rated title on the DS to date," said Cowen Group analyst Doug Creutz. Creutz expects that the game will see sales of 2 million units this year, according to Gamasutra.
"The highly-rated release supports our belief that Take-Two has, pound-for-pound, the highest-quality development talent in the industry," added Creutz.

I honestly don't think it will even break a million. I mean how many people here will buy this for their DS? Those who have ds's, myself included, don't want to play 'adult' games on their portable. If they did they'd have a psp.

You sir, Fail!
This whole pathetic notoin that Nintendo is for "kids," and "real," "serious" games choose the PS3/PSP/XBox360 is such a load of bollocks.
A game is a game, a platform is a platform, a game that works well on a platform and is a great game will sell regardless of the perceptions a few dweebs still hang onto.
And GTA Chinatown rocks, probably the best use of the DS hardware since Zelda...oh wait, I'm sorry, that's a "kid's" game, isn't it...how could I possibly play and enjoy both?!

although I hate myself for linking to metacritic:
LC stories - 88 - http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/psp/grandtheftautolibertycitystories
VC stories - 86 - http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/psp/grandtheftautovicecitystories
Chinatown Wars - 95 - http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ds/grandtheftautochinatownwars
Not like 88 is a bad score but 95 is exceptional, I have no idea why you wouldn't want to buy it especially if you have an affinity for GTA games-
yea, and GTA IV is currently sitting at a score of 98 on metacritic - that said I think it's one of the most boring, limited, and poorly designed sandbox title to date.
I bought GTA IV on the "review" hype that was flowing in the week leading up to it's release. Lesson learned - oh and scores don't mean shit. -

I too don't understand this post. I want to play good games on my DS - I don't care if they're rated E or M.
I could see an argument that the DS is maybe not a logical fit for a GTA game because so many owners are kids, but that's just an argument for why it can't sell 10 million on the platform. 2 million seems in reach.
