                  The problem is in the design o the device to begin with. An mp3 player device that's completely controlled through the headphone cable is so fucking retarded. Apple's earbuds are shit quality and it won't be long before they start selling better quality headphones that you can only get from Apple but they cost $200 or something ridiculous.
                  
                  They're intentionally making it difficult for other companies to make accessories (see iPhone component cable) so people are forced to buy Apple cables. Sure, on one hand a company has to be profitable but on the other they blatantly limit the options that consumers have with their hardware.
