Really, I just played an hour or two Resident Evil 5, co-created and tested a Peggle drinking game, cleaned the apartment, watched some Wire, and read a few chapters of Snow Crash. The rest of the time, I was either sleeping or doing something here.
There were also about five minutes spend on a hammock. Hammock weather, at last!
On the plus side, um, I've got another chance at the weekend here in a couple days?
So, I signed up for a trial account and ended up joining some random corp down in Gallente territory, but I feel like I'm floating around aimlessly waiting for my skills to increase. Is there a guide out there that would get me a good taste of everything and explain to me the basics. (I still have no idea what happens if I die...But I guess that's a good thing).

You'll get tutorial aids that way and the missions will reward you with skills, ships, equipment, and money. On top of the loot you get from battle.
Also in the tutorials they should have explained to you the clones which you buy and they can save up to X number of skill points depending on the model of clone.
