F.E.A.R. 2 DLC Eventually Coming to PC

9
The free "Toy Soldiers" downloadable map pack for F.E.A.R. 2 will hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in mid-April, a representative of developer Monolith confirmed today.

When asked about a PC release, the representative confirmed to Shacknews that downloadable content is on the way to the PC, but does not yet have a release date.

The add-on brings three new oversized multiplayer maps to the spooky shooter sequel.

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

It's weird seeing not seeing this the other way around. Then again, F.E.A.R 2's PC MP doesn't even have frikin' voice chat support.

If I am wrong - and I hope I am - then please correct me. I'm sick of typing "use shock grenades on the mechs!"

LOL. How can you have a multiplayer game without voice chat? I guess you'll need to use 3rd party software and run it in the background?

Needs a dedicated server package too.

PC doesn't even have dedicated server files yet. Monolith completely dropped the ball on FEAR 2 for PC. The multiplayer really isn't to bad - But without dedicated server support the PC community is allready dead.

I was thinking about getting FEAR 2, except that it wouldn't give me 1280x1024 resolution on my monitor, and kept on widescreen the entire time on the demo. Glad I decided not to buy it.

The fact that the PC doesn't have dedicated server files in this day and age is pathetic, considering that pretty much EVERY other pc FPS game has them available.

The widescreen issue has been fixed in the latest patch.

That's nice to know. It's still something that should have been fixed before the demo was released though, considering how annoying it was. Does it "feel" like a PC FPS game when you play it, or does it feel somewhat awkward, like it wasn't meant to be played on a PC? I think I recall it feeling a bit funky for a PC shooter while playing the demo, though that may have been partly due to the widescreen glitch.
