Operation Flashpoint 2 Pre-release Demo Confirmed
by Nick Breckon, Mar 13, 2009 12:04pm PDTCodemasters has announced that a demo for its upcoming military shooter Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will see a demo release prior to the game's ship date.
Said Codie community manager Helios on the game's official forums: "Just wanted to confirm that as is the case with almost all of our major releases, OFP: DR is planned to have a demo released prior to launch for all platforms."
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is scheduled to arrive this summer on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

I won't even bring ArmA2 into the picture. OFP2 looks bad by itself, it doesn't need to be compared to its main competitor to show that.
Now, gameplay-wise? Who knows? Visually, though... very disappointing.

I never played OF1 or ArmA but I am starting to lean towards ArmA II. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 should be out this year so that'll be my casual, run and gun, kiddie shooter for the masses right there. ArmA II looks like it will be the complete opposite: a hardcore sim. OF2 seems to be somewhere in the middle.
I have not been able to figure out if you must command an AI squad in OF2 (something I do not want to do).

There were a bunch of mods out for it that unlocked the assets in the demo. Like the Blackhawk. The interface and everything was available for use, that was sweet..
