C&C Red Alert 3 'Uprising' Expansion Hits Today

13
Fans of bear-blasting strategy games rejoice, as EA LA's stand-alone PC expansion for Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 is slated to arrive as a download later today.

Priced at $19.95 and sold through the online EA Store, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising contains four new mini-campaigns, one of which is a "dungeon-crawler style campaign" that details the origins of psychic Japanese schoolgirl Yuriko Omega.

There's also a new Commander's Challenge mode with 50 "over-the-top" scenarios, and new live-action cutscenes starring Ric Flair and Gemma Atkinson, among others.

Again, Uprising is a stand-alone expansion that does not require Red Alert 3 to play. The game will also be available via other, as-yet-unspecified digital distribution platforms.

Also agreed. Loved the game but not enough to deal with EA's online store.

Its not coming to Steam, but you can get it from D2D. I thought EA learned a thing or two when they finally released some games on Steam. It appears they have not, their still insistent on playing their little games and trying to influence the market. Go ahead and don't make it available in all digital distribution channels and don't include any co op or multiplayer. But don't be surprised when it gets heavily pirated.

Oh for the love of...EA is still trying to forge their own, non-Steam path? Sigh. I did it for the BF2 booster packs but that was it. I vowed that would be the LAST time I went to the EA store; more hassle than it's worth.

I paid $50 for RA3 1 week before it dropped to $30. I think Ill just get it from BitTorrent and well call it even. If it was available on Steam, I probably would have just bought it. Ah well too bad EA, you fail again.

LOL, admitting to piracy on the shack.....is not wise.

I buy more games than anyone I know, I have 55 games on Steam and a huge collection of game boxes from previous years. Ive just gotten to the point where I only get games on Steam. Most games I don't even plan on getting. But its so easy with Steam and those weekend deals always get me.

I'm just being honest, I don't know anyone who hasn't pirated something.
