Army of Two: The 40th Day Announced

As had been expected, Electronic Arts today officially announced Army of Two: The 40th Day, the co-op action game sequel featuring the two-man team of Salem and Rios.

In the game, Salem and Rios find themselves in Shanghai, China, which has been almost completely ruined. As they make their way through the city, they'll try to uncover the secret of the 40th Day. According to EA, gamers can expect a lot more co-op moves (more ways to slap butts please), resulting in a more "organic and immersive" experience.

In development at EA Montreal, Army of Two: The 40th Day is out this winter for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PSP.

Meh, the first wasn't anything special. The co-op isn't a big deal in this climate, as there are many games from Gears of War 2 to Resident Evil 5 that have done it, and better. The move set in AO2 was really just for show, it was really the strategy of each player that made it somewhat fun, not the stupid movies like back to back aiming, etc. I hope they can make the game fun, and even have a good SP for those who do not want to play online. The story was stupid, the dialogue was terrible, the only thing the first game had going for it that is still a neat feature is the custom weapons, armour, etc.

I bought the first one and I enjoyed it. But considering none of my friends really had it, I didn't have much people to play it with so I got rid of this. I'll definitely get this for the 360 to play with my roommate, but I wish they'd do cross console support for multiplayer and shit :(

When I first tried Army of Two I didn't care for it. Many, many months later I played it with a friend and I had a good time. The ending that shipped with the game is garbage though. Thankfully they released a couple more levels for free that has a much better conclusion.

Wasn't this game a huge flop? Everyone I know who played it was disgusted with it. I guess I didn't realize it was sequel worthy?

Should I be renting this to play or picking it up since its probably dirt cheap now?
