Unreal Tournament 3 Steam Sale, Free Weekend Promotions Extended on 2000% Player Increase

Epic's multiplayer shooter Unreal Tournament 3 has seen a 2000% increase in simultaneous players of the game following the recent Titan Pack update and various Steam sales, according to Valve.

As a result, the Steam UT3 40%-off sale has been extended through Sunday, March 22. Valve also notes that the game will again be free to play this weekend, beginning on Friday March 13.

Good for Epic. I've slagged on UT3 around here a lot but this last patch made it really really good. Epic could have just as easily let it die and moved onto the next project, so kudos to them for showing real commitment.

      Times like this I wish I had a rolled back copy so I could do an A/B comparison. All I can compare with is UT2K4, and prepatch there was a noticable enough difference in feel to me between them than there is now.
