Army of Two Sequel Teased

Next week, Army of Two developer EA Montreal is going to unveil a new game, and now the official Army of Two site is teasing that a sequel is on the way. Coincidence?

The source code for the page declares that "the definitive third person co-op shooter is back." There are also uses of Army of Two: TFD, suggesting a likely subtitle.

The original Army of Two hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2008, allowing players to fist-bump their way through the dangerous world of private military contractors. EA previously said that a sequel was likely, but it's yet to be officially announced.

Army of Two definitely had some lame stuff to it, but overall I thought the core shooting was fun. I played it twice and really enjoyed it.

Hopefully they remove or fix the step jumps and co-op parachuting stuff. More weapon upgrades and fewer fist pumps. I liked the aggro and the idea of back to back. I also think they can use the step jump plus level design to make it optional, as in put your dude up here to snipe.

First of Army of Two was a completely awesome game, and a great execution of cooperative gameplay. All the complaints I've read from people about it are usually centered about some WAR IS SERIOUS BUSINESS IN VIDEO GAMES bullshit. Looking forward to the sequel.

That sucks, EA made it seem like it was going to be a big announcement, especially the staggard embargo for a full global release of media, previews, etc. Army of Two wasn't even that great, does the sequel really deserve the hype they are giving it?
