EA Announces Downloadable NCAA Basketball 09: March Madness Edition

Update: An EA representative tells us that the downloadable March Madness "essentially enables you to play the Tournament with the 65 teams. Features like ESPN Classic Teams, Dynasty mode, etc are not included."

Existing owners of NCAA Basketball 09 won't be left out in the cold, as they'll receive a free update with accurate March Madness tournament teams/rosters and the bracket.

Original story: Electronic Arts today announced NCAA Basketball 09: March Madness Edition, a downloadable version of its NCAA Basketball series centered around the March tournament for Xbox 360. Though apparently not a full-featured version of NCAA Basketball, the EA Canada-developed title will include all 65 teams selected for this year's NCAA tournament, each updated for statistical accuracy ahead of the actual tournament.

Though the game will initially feature last year's NCAA tournament teams, an update on March 18 will bring the new teams live.

March Madness Edition will sell for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) when it is released on March 11.
