The release of Rockstar's biker-themed Grand Theft Auto IV expansion The Lost & Damned set a one-day Xbox Live revenue record, according to Microsoft.

No sales figures were released for the $20 downloadable expansion, which went live last week on February 17.

Hate all you want. I don't care if you see it as a bribe or something that fragments the player base, but paying for exclusive content was a shrewd and smart business move on Microsoft's part. Even if they lose a good chunk of the 50 million they guaranteed to Rockstar, Microsoft needs to keep doing stuff like this if they want to compete against Sony.

The only future rockstar purchase I can see myself making is the PC bundle loaded with the 360 exclusives for 20 bucks in 3 years.

Till then - meh. R* can take their pseudo realistic sandbox game and shove it.

Hate it or love it, L&D was likely the best bang-for-your-buck DLC there's been: 6 hours of story related gameplay, 4 hours of extra side-missions, 4 new weapons, a boat-load of new vehicles, entirely new gameplay mechanics and a new music track + radio stations.
