Killzone 2

I'm actually getting pissed off at the enemy! Why? They've made it intelligent enough to take cover when it needs, flank when it needs, using the environment cleverly. If I had a mouse + keyboard these dicks wouldn't have such a good time against me though. The controls aren't bad, it's just that I'm finally feeling the controller handicap for long-range headshots.

Oh and that BRIDGE mission, that's some straight up COD4 mechanics! Wonderful game so far though.

After reading today's 'give mass effect a second chance' thread I picked it back up this afternoon. I had just left the citadel for the first time. 4 more hours of play later, I want to construct a rudimentary flamethrower, go to bioware's studios and burninate everyone who decided on this over KOTOR3.

The vehicle levels blow. The combat is uninspired and clunky, like they just threw in some Gears of War and went to lunch. The levels are empty. Where's the detail we saw in their previous efforts? Oh wait, it's in my codex, because what I really want from a game is a homework assignment. Simply, the game is plodding and boring. I knew about the elevators and bad inventory going in so those get a pass.

The worst part is, I have no doubt there is a great story inside somewhere. But fuck me if I'm going to spend any more boring hours trying to get to it.

Fallout 3 has spoiled me.

Ugh...so I was JUST finally able to grab it by finding a random store that had it in stock. holy fucking shit this is hard with the 360 controller. I'm being a Ken douchebag right now and the Super and Ultra combos are next to impossible to pull off.

The normal Shoryuken is hard enough. I don't have much trouble with the fireball and flying kick tho? :(

I promised Solstice I would repost this during the day so here it is!

I don't pimp my food blog very often but I got a fucking fantastic recipe for pierogies from Solstice's grandmother and combined it with Bean's craziness. I made some traditional and some with the crazy stuff and all were excellent.

I just finished watching Aliens vs. Predator and it's far from being the stinker I heard it was. Uses all the usual Hollywood horror movie conventions, yes. So while I wouldn't describe it as great, it's servicable.

And yeah, you have to nuke from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

My friends and I have ravished Red Alert 3 in every possible way. It was glorious. But now, I'm afraid I might need some sort of RTS fix! I was thinking of accumulating some parts to eventually put together a cool little mame PC to hide behind the back of my TV since cookblaze got me thinking about it.

I pretty much have everything but a wireless keyboard and mouse and an arcade stick.

Just googling around and I see a 2 player hotrod stick that looks pretty good: http://www.hanaho.com/Products/HotRodJoystick.php

I'm thinking that this would be more impressive if I could get 1 for 4 players to stick on the coffee table. I haven't found much in google though just 2 players.
