Morning Discussion
by Chris Faylor, Feb 26, 2009 7:22am PSTThursday? Yeah, no problem. I can do Thursday.
Starting to get a bit excited about this weekend's Frisco/Dallas Shackmeet of laser tag, bowling, gelato and doom. Maarten and I are both flying in tomorrow afternoon, as to not miss a moment of the Saturday hijinks. It's my first Shackmeet. Please, be gentle.

I'm going to play some w/ a buddy tonight. I've taken an interest in Crimson Viper. Her moves are different but she's been pretty refreshing to play. Some of her combos are tied to cancelling her high jump (HJC) which may prove too difficult for my slow fingers but we'll see. Any other CViper players here? I know tastywheat was into her a bit at the start.
Genjuro, I can 100% see you playing abel. He's a lot like alex. Speaking of character similarities, isn't El Fuerte a lot like Guy? remember Guy's running throw? And C.Viper bears some similarities to makoto in SF3. Not sure who Rufus is like, but I enjoy watching his belly bounce. I play him for laughs, but I doubt you'd see too many serious rufus players around.

best practice i've found is to work your 'poke' game at that point, make them go on the offensive instead of going all out attack yourself, and giving the person you're fighting plenty of opportunities to counter with moves of their own.
Jumping in was a very viable approach in SF3, because you could mid air parry the dragon punch and followup with some good attacks.
