Dante's Inferno CG Trailer: Went to Hell, Got Killed

Here's the second trailer for Dante's Inferno, the upcoming Divine Comedy-inspired, "Dead Space meets God of War" game from EA Redwood Shores.

According to an earlier preview, the gameplay is looking to be nearly identical to God of War, the major innovation apparently coming from a title that does not end in "of War."

Dante's Inferno is set to be released this year. Only the PlayStation 3 version has been confirmed, but the game will likely end up on the PC and Xbox 360 as well.

Who cares if it deviates, if it actually is "God of War meets Dead Space" it'll be an awesome action game with tons of creepy atmosphere. This game, whether good or bad, takes absolutely nothing away from the greatness of the original story.

You know, a game based loosely on Dante's Inferno featuring a protagonist who ends up in hell and has to fight his very own sins in order to escape could be a great action/adventure games with amazingly done story telling and gameplay. It could even be game of the year.

But, this is EA, so it won't be anything like that.

if they had been smart they would have just made it and left Dante's name off of it. The bias against the game they have incurred at this point would have been avoided and people might be looking at the game differently.
But, they didn't. Too bad it's public domain. Dante's descendants should sue to have his name removed.
