Street Fighter 4 Ships Over 2 Million Copies

Capcom has shipped over two million copies of Street Fighter IV to retailers worldwide, the company announced today. The PS3 and Xbox 360 brawler hit North America and Europe last week, with the Japanese release having arrived two weeks back.

While a regional breakdown of sales and shipments were not provided, Capcom noted that "first week sales in North America have been unbelievable -- just wait until you see the figures [released by] NPD next month!" After the console versions debuted in Japan, Capcom quickly claimed that the anticipated fighter had sold out at retailers.

A PC version of Street Fighter IV is due out eventually, but does not have a solid date yet.

As exciting as it is to see a beloved franchise get a sequel (for its fanbase), I think this kind of gameplay / genre has gotten pretty boring and played out. It's just pretty hard to get enthused about this.

I want this game but no one really to play with locally, most of my friends aren't SF fans anymore they just play Bad Company and will probably play Killzone 2.

I'll have to get it eventually whenever it drops to like $30. I used to be obsessed with SF like 10 years ago.

very very fun game. im taking a break for a couple days because my thumb on my left hand is sore as hell. being a PC gamer mostly for the last 6 years i forgot how brutal some hardcore gaming on a console can be.

I would totally buy this for my 360 if I had faith in a decent controller. I was wondering why they didnt have any bundles with the game when it was released.

love the game, i was one of those that was VERY much against getting rid of the parrying system from street fighter 3, but over all I think this game got it right for the most part.

the only thing this needed was easier way to input super/ultra combos (ala stf3) and a better lobby system for online matches.
