God of War 3, MAG Coming This Year

Tucked away within a Sony press release trumpeting next week's arrival of Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2 was word that two other anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusives, SCE Santa Monica's God of War III and Zipper's MAG, are both slated to arrive this year.

Before today, neither game had been given a firm release window. MAG is a 256-player online shooter, in which players assemble into groups of 8 to duke it out in a persistent world. God of War III, meanwhile, is the latest entry in the beloved beat 'em up series.

"[Killzone 2] ushers in an unprecedented year of titles to hit the PlayStation platform throughout the year including the blockbuster exclusives Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, inFamous, MAG, Heavy Rain, God of War III and MLB 09 The Show," states the release.

God of War III is the only title in that list i would call a blockbuster exclusive. But that alone should be enough to get me to buy a PS3 sometime in the next 6 months. Any ideas if there is any sort of price cut expected in the next year or so? Cause i can definitely wait for one if its coming

The main problem with 256 players is if the game flops and there are 3 or 5 people on a server at a time. The game has to be incredibly amazing to sustain multiple servers with 256 players on it.

What can i expect from a 256 players online war game...they need to work hard on the resources, like the type of weapon.. i mean, can you guys imagine waiting for play when youre dead and it needs to respawn.... can even imagine... however, im a real big fan of fps and i will play this one... but 256 Players.... cant say that will be a Blockbuster... its dangerous to be a boring title...

God of War III... Yeah this one will be like SHadow of Colossous....master piece oO.

I'm curious to see what this means. Saying 256 as a feature point doesn't excite me...quite the opposite. Typically I've found the more players in multiplayer the bigger the cluster fuck.

Resistance 2 claims a fairly large number but I have no idea what it actually does to the game. it seems like there are a lot of players, but they focus you so much within the round that it really feels like a small number.
