American McGee's Alice Sequel on the Way, Developed by McGee's Spicy Horse

A new sequel to American McGee's Alice, the twisted 2000 action-adventure take on Alice in Wonderland, is in the works at designer American McGee's studio Spicy Horse. Electronic Arts will publish the game through the EA Partners label.

Shacknews has learned that the game is scheduled to ship on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. No release date has been announced.

Tim Burton is currently making a new Alice in Wonderland film, set to star Johnny Depp and debut in 2010. No word yet on whether the two projects are connected in any way.

American McGee is famous simply because he has a rad name that, when plastered on something, makes it sound awesome. That's it. If his name was Bill Johnson or something similarly generic, he'd be completely unknown.

Oh fuck *yes*. The only film I am actually interested in is the Alice in Wonderland film, which is apparently based on American McGee's Alice, and is one of my favourite games ever, and I was really really hoping EA would decide to do a remake. God please let this be good, the original was SO amazing, artistically, the atmosphere, the interpretation of the original story, the gameplay, it was fucking ace. It was the first game I ever played that actually fucked with my mind, the way you would walk into a room and then turn around to find the door you came through had disappeared. It did illusions and puzzles really well. I am super happy about this announcement. I just wished American McGee was brought back on board to head the project.
