'Classic' Matt Hazard Game Hitting PSN, XBLA

Further fleshing out the past of its fictional "80's videogame action hero" Matt Hazard, D3Publisher today revealed that one of the "classic" Matt Hazard titles will be released as a downloadable PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game later this summer.

Hazard will officially debut in Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard, a satirical Vicious Cycle-developed action game that hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 3.

The new game will be an action-adventure, with no other details known at this time. Alongside the announcement, two pieces of concept art were issued.

The fictional history of Marathon Software's Matt Hazard series includes such games as A Fistful of Hazard, The Adventures of Matt in Hazard Land, Matt Hazard 3D, You Only Live 1317 Times, Haz-Matt Carts, and, of course, Choking Hazard: Candygram.

Good on them for making more back story and creating a universe for their fictional character.
I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll be doing for Matt Hazard, it's about time we had another FPS with tongue-in-cheek humour. (Dammit, Duke, where are you!?)

I'm getting pretty pumped about it too. Even if the gameplay isn't super awesome I'd still look at picking it up.

      We need another Serious Sam!

Yeah, we need some more games that don't take themselves too seriously. I'm just hoping it's fun too.
