Cryptic's Champions Online Set for June Launch
by Nick Breckon, Feb 18, 2009 1:50pm PSTChampions Online, the new MMO from City of Heroes developer Cryptic Studios, is now scheduled for a June launch according to publisher Atari.
Atari did not mention whether the launch will be simultaneous across the game's planned platforms, the Xbox 360 and PC.
Marked by a traditional comic book art style, Champions' main bullet-point is its character customization, allowing players to write their own backstories and create an arch-nemesis that will follow them throughout their heroic careers.
A beta for the game will begin this spring. Signups are still open at the official website.

Oh! Also, take a page from WAR and implement Public Quests. Lots and lots of Public Quests for Giant Monster OR Sudden Alien Attack OR Menace from Underground and so on ... justice.
In fact, all Kill X and Find Y quests out in the city should be Public. :D
Finally, please don't let PvP affect PvE. Suppression and de-scaling the attacks to be less-than-heroic were some really crappy moves for Co*. :/ I would be JUST FINE with having my powers change entirely when fighting human vs. AI opponents.

CoH was awesome, despite the obvious flaws. I'm really hoping Cryptic learned their lessons, as I had an absolute blast playing City of Heroes.
