Sin City: The Game Might Arrive in 2011, Publisher Red Mile Facing Substantial Financial Problems

3
Publisher Red Mile Entertainment has revealed that its comic-inspired Sin City game, announced in 2007, is planned for release between April 1, 2011 and March 31, 2012.

Of course, that's assuming the publisher can secure enough funding to stay open, with the company stressing its need for "sufficient funds to continue operations." Currently, the company has $341,000 in cash, which it expects to last until March 31, 2009.

In order to stay open for the next two to three years, and thus release both Sin City and Heroes Over Europe, Red Mile estimates it will need an advance of $10 million. At present, it is seeking a co-publishing agreement for help with funding Sin City.

Since its current fiscal year began on April 1, 2008, Red Mile has lost $2.26 million, with Atari recently backing out of a co-publishing agreement for Heroes Over Europe. Red Mile is now considering "all remedies" against Atari, including compensatory damages.

Due to Atari's withdrawal, Red Mile has delayed its payments to Heroes Over Europe (PC, PS3, 360) developer Transmission. The company expects to ship Heroes Over Europe between April 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010, assuming it can make payments.

Same here, I wondered why a gruesome black & white picture was the headline for this. (and wondered if they mixed up a MAdworld shot).

Of course, that means we need a SimSinCity game soon.

If you're jonesing for a SimCity game, keep your eye on CitiesXL.
