by Steve Gibson, Apr 06, 2000 9:32am PDTWord over at EETimes is that AMD is now shippin samples of the copper interterconnect versions of the Thunderbird (modified Athlon) CPUs. Also if you guys watch the press you'll see AMD has had all kinds of positive reports on progress and future CPU stuff. The stock made a nice jump after all the good news and things just keep getting better for AMD.
Thunderbird is one of four new processors AMD is slated to introduce this year. Sanders said AMD will introduce its Spitfire processor with on-chip cache by June, followed by its Mustang mobile processor with up to 2 Mbytes of on-chip cache.. <snip>

How about the fact that companies are actually trying to fucking patent human genes simply because they found it first.
Celera said it filed for 6,500 patents on gene sequences last year, but now says it has only submitted preliminary paperwork on the genetic information and will only ask for patents on genes that may be significant for drug development.
Bah... they want to own the bits of code they can profit most from.

When was the Celeron 2 released? Yep, I bet the celeron 2 is 2 times the suck of the Celeron. Where can I get specs for the Willamette, imagine how expensive that thing is gonna be when its released.
Dell is on the verge of buying 100,000 Spitfire processors...
this will probably be announced when Spitfire is out. Dell is extremely disappointed in Celeron 2 performance. ( they cannot overclock hehe :)
so even though AMD is up its a good time to buy their stock. right after this announcement they will go up and away right till Intel releases Willamette
