The Force Unleashed Sells 5.7 Million Worldwide

22
LucasArts' multiplatform action title Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has sold 5.7 million copies since its September 2008 release, according to Gamasutra.

The figure makes The Force Unleashed the fastest-selling Star Wars game in history. The game's demo also set records, seeing over one million downloads on Xbox Live in eight days.

Contributing to The Force Unleashed's success was the game's multiplatform coverage. The Force Unleashed was released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, Nintendo DS, iPod Touch, iPhone, N-Gage and other mobile platforms.

    Is this game fun?

I enjoyed it quite a bit, and still do. Course I might be biased. I found the story really well done, and the game followed suit. There wasn't a point where I was waiting to get a certain part over with. This refers to the 360 version, as it's the only version I have played.

The gameplay leaves a lot to be desired but the plot and (voice) acting were vastly superior to the prequels.

It's not horrible but it's far from great too.

I'd say about 3/4 of the game is... near the end I got so fed up with some stupid gameplay shit I gave up.

If you are a Star Wars nut you will look past it's deficiencies and have a good time. I wholly enjoyed it, even some of the frustrating stuff. I even got the DLC and had fun with that. If the demo intrigued you it's at least worth a rental.
