Nintendo DS Set To Receive LEGO Battles

If there's any hope for Battlefront 3, they'll just make it Lego Star Wars Battlefront 3.

I play this on weekends already; there's a whole table-top ruleset that uses lego for building material to create armies. It's kinda like Warhammer but more absurd...

I might have to check this out, though the appeal of the recent LEGO games--Star Wars, Indy, and Batman--for me was the opportunity to play through a popular license-based game that really understood its source material. Finding all of the secrets and playing as favorite characters in different worlds, especially in LEGO Star Wars, was really fun. Even though each game followed the same formula, fans of different properties could latch on to that particular title (I love Batman, so that's the one I've played the most) and enjoy all the nods to history.

Other than that, I'm not really familiar with LEGOs. Never played with them, so a LEGO game carrying solely the theme of LEGO might not be so thrilling for me.

But of course, that's just me. I'm sure many gamers will find this awesome.

I don't know why, but after playing those LEGO games I had an urge to put brick together again, so I ordered two star wars sets, 7676 Republic Attack Gunship and the 7675 AT-TE Walker. Great fun looking at them in all their glory, I'll order some more as it seems. Fine memories of the past, but I will admit, the solutions are piss lazy these days, back then you had creative solution with standard bricks, now they have molds for everything as it seems, kinda takes the fun away, but still one of the greatest toys for kids, if you ask me.

My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts on the other hand.

The screen shot of the lego pirates reminds me very much of Lego Chess. I used to play that all the time when I was younger. Plus legos were like the only toy I played with, nothing else even came close to being as awesome as legos.

My 5 year old son is going to love this, and I probably will too.

No zombies = FAIL.

(But seriously, excellent idea. No reason not to use the more generic playsets to create a game with.)

I wonder if this is going to be "squad-based" like Battalion Wars on the cube and wii?

Cool. I loved the other Lego games, but I am ready for something different.
