A sequel to the 2004 Western action game Red Dead Revolver will be released this fall, publisher Rockstar Games announced today.

Set at the turn of the 20th century, the Wild West game, titled Red Dead Redemption, will feature an open-world environment courtesy of the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine, also used by Grand Theft Auto 4.

"The team at San Diego have massively exceeded our expectations with the sheer depth of experiences in Red Dead Redemption," said Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser. "The seamless combination of breathtaking beauty and intense action, all woven together with strong plotlines in a massive vibrant, rural environment is mind-blowing. We think this game helps to push the limits of what an open-world gaming experience can be," he added.

Rockstar San Diego (Red Dead Revolver, Midnight Club: Los Angeles) is handling development of the game, which will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Which Rockstar Studio was Mad Doc/ I refuse to buy anything from that studio after the bullly on the 360 and pc cluster fuck. Out side of that, I'm very interested in this game. :)

I think San Diego are the guys behind the Midnight Club games. I think Mad Doc is from New England or something.
