New Star Wars: The Old Republic Trailer Arrives

How many gems can I socket in my lightsaber? Will it erase the enchant I currently have on it? If I spec Dark Side and decide to go Light to heal on a raid, how much will it cost me to do so?

Some of the scenery looks nice, and it looks like they've taken the 'right' star wars atmosphere and applied it to a game.

Cant help but think the combat looks ludicrous though. The better graphics get, the more absurd quasi turn based combat seems in a real time world. Watching that Jedi fight the beast looked stupid, he's slashing the shit out of it and it just keeps pawing at him and groaning, only to eventually fall over. instead of wasting time thinking of power ups and skills that are just ripped from other titles and re-named to something star warsy, why don't they find a way of making combat look believable by masking the timing/turn based mechanics with automated combat animations that make the fighting look realistic?

It's a criticism I level at all MMOs to be honest. They are real time games with turn based combat mechanics, and they look ridiculous! Am I the only person who feels that way?

I'll admit. It's starting to look more interesting to me. I would still have preferred a proper KOTOR 3 though.

I like it, but I feel that lightsaber combat is unpossible without dismemberment. may as well be a sword.

OK I am calling it now. This game definitely has IT in terms of visual appeal. So many other games failed at this recently like AoC and Warhammer. I hope they are manage to make it varied an interesting to explore.

I really hate how they're already pimping this game out years before it's release.

At first I hated it. But the more I see, the more i think they nailed their own sense of style. When fully polished, I think this will really stand up.

Why is it in such a world of high technology people are stuck on foot?

Okay I have to revise my opinion on this game. That video looked great. I get the art style now, and I actually have hope for an interesting plot. I'm really looking forward to it.

Starbreeze is a great choice, but man EA is just a licensed property mill these days. Very little original stuff coming out of any of their studios and what does is in danger of being canned.

Wow, looks like they really nailed some of that concept art in game. That may not be a special case but it's quite cool to see the comparison.
