Evening Reading

So this weekend me and my wife really felt like eating a reasonable facsimile of a Bistecca Fiorentina after watching an episode of Lydia's Italy where they ate one. I went out and got a 1.3 pound Porterhouse cut. I cooked it as suggested (and as I remember from eating it in Florence) and prepared some white beans a la toscana on the side. It all turned out super delicious.

However... that fucking steak cost me $19.50 raw at Whole Foods. Almost $20 for a raw steak so you can cook it. I checked at two smaller neighborhood grocery stores and the difference in price was $1/pound tops. Fucking christ.

Was I fucked up the ass at the cash register? I've never been to a mexican butchery because, although I love everything mexican, these butcheries don't usally look very hygienic.

What say you Shack, where should I get cuts of meat in the future?
