Gears of War Film Director Eyes Trilogy
by Nick Breckon, Jan 26, 2009 11:54am PSTDirector Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld: Evolution) is planning to helm a triplet of films based on Epic's Gears of War shooter franchise, according to a new interview.
"The hope is that we're wanting to do three movies and really cover the bases on everything," said Wiseman to horror site Bloody-Disgusting. "Basically a harder edged Lord Of The Rings."
Wiseman signed on to direct the Gears adaptation last June. The screenplay is being penned by Chris Morgan (Wanted, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift), with the project being financed by Legendary Pictures and New Line Cinema.
"It's going to be much more [on the] science fiction side of it than the creature side of it," added Wiseman of the film. "I've always been much more of a sci-fi action fan than a horror fan."

Will she be in tight, latex outfits?
Can someone send me an image of her posing with a Lancer assault rifle? Preferably NWS too please. Thanks

They could make the movie literally pure action. It'd have explosions, chase scenes, gunfights and hand to hand combat only broken up by one-liners.
No plot. No character development.
It'd start with Marcus, Dom, Thai and Cole all sitting around in a dim basement, smoking cigars, drinking and playing poker. Then Marcus would get a call from HQ and say something badass, and then they roll out. From then on pretty much they just kill enemies in every posisble way you could imagine for 90 minutes, and say cheesy schwarzenegger style one liners after they do something badass.
I'd watch that.
This is probably the stupidest statement of the young 2009.
Way to lead off BIG!

I can't say the same for Chris Morgan, however Tokyo Drift was not written poorly. It was more down to the earth than the past 2, however I did not see wanted (and did not want to).
Bottom line is this game-to-movie adaptation is already having way better start than most others.
