By Maarten Goldstein, Jan 22, 2009 5:30am PST

As had been expected, a F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin PC demo is now available and can be downloaded from FileShack. An Xbox 360 demo has been released as well, now available from the console's online marketplace, with a PS3 demo due later today.

The demo is a 1.76GB download and offers a glimpse at what you can expect from Monolith's horror action game sequel, which hits stores February 10 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

  • This didn't do much for me. Everything from the weapons to the movement felt floaty to me. The firefights didn't feel as intense as the first game's either. Great engine though, and I'm glad that they seem to have done a better job of combining the combat with the horror aspects than they did the first time around.

But I continue to be amazed that people actually find this series scary. The sequence with the invisible flickering being was pretty good, but mostly it seems like a more accurate title for this series would be S.T.A.R.T.L.E. The atmosphere just isn't there.
