Ubisoft Buys Imagine: Wedding Designer Developer

Southlogic Studios, Brazil's longest-standing independent studio, is now an Ubisoft subsidiary, the companies announced today.
Formed in 1996, Southlogic released its first game, the 2D PC shooter Guimo, in 1997, followed by Trophy Hunter 2003 in 2002.
The company worked with Ubisoft on its most recent release, Imagine: Wedding Designer, which hit Nintendo DS in the fall of 2008. Along with full games, Southlogic's roughly 20-person team has provided publishers with outsourced art and technology.
Under the agreement, Southlogic will be merged with Ubisoft's existing Brazillian studio in Sao Paulo, with Southlogic operating as a satellite branch our of its existing location in Porto Alegre. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Wow, that's quite a big casual game lineup that Ubisoft has, including the Petz series.
