Evening Reading

by Steve Gibson, Jan 19, 2009 6:00pm PST

So I somehow convinced Nick to install Windows 7 on his main desktop PC and I think it

has been worth it! He is going through all the pain now of figuring out how to get a few

programs working. Once he is done I'll take the plunge, but that sucker has to suffer

first!

  • been thinking a little bit about bsg and the recent developments in season 4 with respect to the use of religion in the show;

    could it be that:
    the humans have a poly-theistic view (many gods) due to the fact that their religion is somehow based around the mythology of the final 5, implying that:
    - the final 5 recreated the colonies somehow
    - which created the mythology of a genesis from many makers

    whereas the cylons have the mythology of single god, possibly referring to a single maker, ie one person responsible for their creation (inventor, the early hybrid that adama encountered, etc).

    thoughts? I may not be dead on, but I think it follows somewhat...
