With Dragon Quest V hitting North America for the first time on February 17, publisher Square Enix has provided some new screenshots of the Nintendo DS remake.

Based on Enix's Japan-only SNES original, ArtePiazza's modern rehash of Dragon Quest V adds fancy 3D graphics to the 2D original, along with other enhancements.

I played the first Dragon Warrior on Nintendo when it came out. I was too young to even fully comprehend what was going on in that game, I must have been 7 or 8. I do remember it being one of the best RPG's on the NES, EVER.
The graphics look great considering it's on the DS, shows you what a little bit of artistic talent can do. The graphics in games tend to get better as time goes on and developers become more familiar with the hardware and find ways around the limitations. I'm excited, but i'm not 100% sure I am going to pick this up when it comes out due to a lack of fundages. But it's the only DS game I would even consider getting at this point.
