Circuit City Shutting Down Remaining 567 Stores

After filing for bankruptcy last year, electronics retailer Circuit City will close the doors of its last 567 stores, putting 30,000 employees out of work, according to the AP.

Circuit City had been looking for a buyer, with two parties looking to acquire either 350 stores or 180 stores, but the deals eventually fell through.

"This is the only possible path for our company," said Circuit City acting CEO James A. Marcum. "We are extremely disappointed by this outcome."

Close-out sales will begin as early as Saturday.

I can't say i'm surprised by this. I've held a grudge against ciruit city after they drilled a hole clean through my car door when installing a set of speakers (rather than using the adaptor-brackets that CAME WITH THE SPEAKERS).
